ABOUT / MATTHEW HUYNH

Engineering with
a hands-on perspective.

I’m a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of California, Merced, with a minor in Materials Science & Engineering.

Connected disciplines.
Practical development.

My interests center on electromechanical product development: bringing mechanical design, sensing, and controls together in working systems.

My project work spans mechanism design, UAV development, sensor integration, robotics, and simulation. I’m interested in the details of individual components and how those components work together.

OUTSIDE ENGINEERING

Outside the lab.

When I’m not working on engineering projects, I enjoy hiking, road trips, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.

I also value making time for interests outside of school and research, whether that means getting outdoors, traveling, or just stepping away from a screen for a while.
